Crystal Mountain Engagement
This Crystal Mountain Engagement Session was right up my alley since I love the outdoors.
I always have fun on photo shoots, but sometimes I get to work with clients whose personalities just line up with mine. This was the case with Hannah and Jevon on their engagement shoot at Crystal and their nearby family cabin. I feel like by the end of the shoot I made new friends.
We started at Hannah’s cabin which was a perfect balance of rustic comfort. I always check with clients to see if there is a significant location for them as a couple. This seemed to fit since Hannah had been coming here since she was a child.
They had these cute little key chains of an acorn and a thimble for when they have a fight, they’ll give it to the other person when they’re ready to talk. Pretty sweet.
We wanted to make sure we had enough time at the top of Crystal Mountain before the chair lift closed so we headed out for the Mountain as soon as we had enough pictures around the cabin.
As we were riding up and down in the gondola, I figured why waste this time. So I tried to get creative with the environment.
I think this one is pretty fun, I was standing on the bench looking down on them with a wide angle lens.
On Top of Crystal Mountain
Crystal is beautiful and it has an incredible view of Mt. Rainier. Unfortunately it wasn’t as clear as we would have liked it to be. I think we still got some great shots. Like me, they are lovers of the outdoors so I wanted to make sure that we not only captured moments that focused on them, but also the scenery around them.
We then went back to a creek by the cabin to take some more pictures. Like a majority of the photo shoots I do I have a tendency to get excited about something keep working because I’ll get inspired for that next shot that I just have to get. Remember the thimble and acorn keychain? Well they both have matching tattoos that I wanted to capture. Jevon has the thimble and Hannah has the acorn. The placement of the tattoos made it a little tricky to pose. So I had them lie down next to each other so I could see as much of their ink as possible.
We had a great time together and I know that this couple’s future is going to be a bright one.
