Semiahmoo Resort Northwest Wedding
Semiahmoo Resort Northwest Wedding. Sunshine came out right as the ceremony was beginning at this beautiful Semiahmoo Resort Northwest Wedding in Blaine, WA. Semiahmoo Resort and Spa was chosen as the Northwest’s Best Resort in 2016 by Seattle Magazine readers. It’s no wonder why Melinda and James chose this venue for their ceremony and reception because it is absolutely beautiful.
Wedding planning, day of coordination, and gorgeous florals were done by Jordan Moll Events. Melinda was a daffodil princess when she was in high school at the Daffodil Festival in Pierce County. It’s kind of a big deal, so Jordan had this lovely cross stitched daffodil emblem made for Melinda as a surprise.
The wedding gown and accessories came from The Dress Theory. The beautiful dress was created by Rue De Seine, while the bridesmaids dresses varied from Adrianna Papel, David’s Bridal, and Mumu.
Check out the stunning bride! Hair and Makeup was by Leah at Posh Styling.
The men’s suits were from Macy’s and the ties were from Express Men.
Melinda and James exchanged letters, which is always very touching. James must have done a good job writing his because Melinda had to fan off her teary eyes.
First Look
We did their first look in a courtyard at the resort. There were lots of people around the perimeter inside watching them through the windows. We wanted to keep the first look close to the building since it was drizzling and we didn’t want to get the happy couple too wet before the ceremony.
The ring bearer was their dog, Bear. Although he’s cute as can be, he did forget the wedding rings back up in the suite at ceremony time! The bride’s brother and sister-in-law quickly acted removing their rings for Melinda and James to use until they could retrieve their rings after the ceremony. It was one of those moments that will be talked about for years to come.
We started with a few pictures under the umbrella until the rain let up a bit.
I love this Volkswagen Photo Bus by Sundance Photo Wagon.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place behind the resort on the Peace Arch Pier Dock. It was a romantic setting overlooking the bay with a quartet playing.
After the ceremony we had a little bit of time by the water before the newlyweds skipped off to enjoy their reception.
Reception
The reception was held in a really nice permanent tent near the ceremony space.
Pie! These tasty pies were baked by Whidbey Pies Cafe.
DJ Adam from Soundabout DJ made sure everyone was out there having a good time.
What an absolutely beautiful wedding with a wonderful couple. Congratulations Melinda and James! We wish you all the best!
