Tacoma Country and Golf Club Wedding
Tacoma Country and Golf Club wedding venue is one of my favorite wedding venues in Tacoma. First of all, their property is immaculate, the onsite catering is delicious, and they have some of the friendliest staff.
Set upon the bank of American Lake, joined by 130 guests, Brian and Nicole were married on a cool September evening.
Brian and Nicole got ready onsite at TCGC, which is always a plus because the bride and groom can maximize their photo time so they can avoid driving around to multiple locations. Consequently we all spend less time in the car and more time taking pictures.
Nicole got this incredible dress from Christinna’s Bridal in Seattle. Salon Miro did her hair at Hotel Murano. Shelby Bartug brought out this bride’s natural beauty with her makeup skills. Isn’t she just glowing?
Brides that want to have a first look with their father get two thumbs up in my book. I always get a little choked up here as well as when it comes time for their toast at the reception due to me being a father myself.
First looks are always highly recommended. Brian and Nicole’s first look was at the same spot as their ceremony since there was great light there and a beautiful view of the lake. While I always listen to a couple’s preference on locations for a first look I gravitate towards the best backdrop and the best light at that given time.
Seems like a fun wedding party right? If you thought yes, you are 100% correct. Great wedding parties that are willing to be a little silly in front of the camera always make the big day that much brighter.
Look at this stunning flower bouquet by Maria Frederick with Weddings Northwest. This gorgeous bouquet is a perfect compliment to the bride’s beauty.
After the first look and wedding party photos we escaped on a golf cart to get some couple’s portraits on the golf course. Another thing I love to do is getting those in between shots, since I usually get some nice candids. Hang on!
Overlooking American Lake, the ceremony was performed by the uncle of the groom. Brian and Nicole wrote their vows, and were followed by a joint commitment for their life together. Music from the ceremony was Beatle themed with all the music from the groom’s favorite group.
Cocktails & Reception
Cocktail hour was held outside under the cafe lights. Dinner, toasts and dancing with Adam’s DJ Service were upstairs in the main ballroom with a view of American Lake. The weather cooperated for the outdoor events and then provided nature’s fireworks (lightning) in the distance right behind the head table during speeches.
Busting a move on the dance floor, Brian probably had some of the best moves I’ve seen from a groom in a while.
Finally, what an absolutely incredible day with these two. Congratulations Brian and Nicole! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.
